This is my tenth post in “Learn Life in Lifeline of Mumbai”. Today, I am writing about a fear, a tension or a wish which we all pray to god while travelling now-a-days in train. It came to my notice that everyday before train leaves station everyone close their eyes and pray, whenever a temple passes by, they chant a mantra, it even includes me. Because we all have a fear of being killed in a bomb blast or a terrorist attack, a fear that whether we will see our loved ones again, a fear that will we be there tomorrow to fulfill our dreams. So, we pray to god to save us and start our journey in a hope that he will protect us and we will be safe.
I still remember the day when there was a terrorist attack on local trains and I was trying to call my dad and cousins to ensure if they are safe. The tension, the crowd at the PCO booth because of less number of mobile phones at that time and the relief which we get when we hear their voice saying “We are safe don't worry.” I also remember going to college the next day of attack and seeing the train still crowded with a fear in everyone's face that how it will be today. All pray to god as the train makes it horn and call out “Ganpati Bappa...” and all others replying to it “Morya...” Life and time doesn’t stop for anyone, we need to deal it with strength and faith that we will succeed. That’s why whenever there is an attack in the city the next day people go for work because, its life we need to work to earn our livelihood. We can learn a lot from this that whenever there is a bad situation in your life, don’t move away from it but deal with it and face it with the right way it has to be handled with. If we go through a problem, we earn experience to solve it or handle it next time we face it again. Convert your problems to a learning and experience, which can help you grow in your life. Life is a challenge, so deal with your problems in a positive way to enjoy life. By this tenth post, we are taking a break in this concept of “Learn Life in Lifeline of Mumbai”. Today, while travelling in train, back to home from office I noticed a person who was very much tensed and worried. He was watching each station carefully and reading its name. Suddenly, he turned around and asked “Which station passed now?” I told him station name and asked him “Where he wanted to go?” He said, “He wanted to go to Mira Road.” Everyone around in train looked at him and told him that, “He is on wrong train, which is going in totally opposite direction.” He got worried and tensed. He said that “I was new to Mumbai and didn't know about places here. Someone stole my wallet and mobile in train at Kurla station, so, I couldn’t call someone I know.” So, we provided him our mobile and asked him to call someone he knew, but he didn't recall anyone’s number. He was getting more worried and we all also started thinking that how we can help him as this situation can arise to anyone of us.
We reached last station and he was confused. We told him to catch CST train from here and get down at Wadala Station and board Bandra train first and then another train which gets him to Mira Road. But he was confused with the stations and the place. We also had doubt that how he will reach there. We were sitting with him at station and helping him find out a way. After sometime, he recalled a number but he wasn’t sure it was right or not, but we told him to dial and check it. He dialed that number and it turned out to be right, it was his brother’s number who stays in Mira Road. His brother told to board a CST train and get down at Wadala station and he will come down to Wadala to pick him up. He had a sign of relief in his face. We went to the ticket counter and brought a ticket for him for Wadala station. He thanked us for helping him without which it was difficult for him to reach his home today. He boarded CST train, we said him good bye and informed his brother that he has left for Wadala station. Late at night, I got a call from his brother’s number and said that he called to inform he reached home safely and told me to convey his thanks and message to all. After all this it came in my mind that this situation can happen to anyone of us. But we never know when, where and who will come to help us, but we should think positive and wait for something positive to happen. Here also, neither had we known him nor did he know us, but unknown people became friends with him to help out when he was lost. We were mend to help him during his bad time. That is how life is, we never knew whose gonna help us during our difficult times, but think positive, there is someone mend to help us at these times. So, deal difficult times of your life in positive way and relax. Thank you all for reading this. Do share with me if you have come across any such person or thought.... Let's share some valuable lessons which would help us to grow. This is my eighth post in “Learn Life in Lifeline of Mumbai”. Music is the best medicine to any problem, may be physical or mental disturbance but music can help you overcome it.
Today, I am writing about a person who everyday morning boards our train and plays nice melody old Hindi movie songs. He is a very simple person and doesn't talk much, but the songs he plays are really beautiful. He carries a very simple mobile with him. Everyone enjoys his song and if one day he doesn't come then all ask each other "he didn't come today?” In morning time, while travelling, we keep thinking that what all we have to do today at work and about our different problems. And at this time, someone playing nice music makes us chill out, relax and enjoy whole day. Best unique think in him is he hasn’t played any song twice yet. He doesn't talk much to others just plays song in his mobile and keeps it in his shirt pocket. One day because of rush his mobile fell down from his hand and broke into pieces. For next few days, there was no song in train. He was standing quietly without talking much as he was sad. Few days passed and then a group of people travelling daily in same train came to him and presented him a gift. He refused saying "Why gift? I don't need... Its fine" and one person from that group replied "You accept it and see it... It’s a gift from all of us.... We have contributed for you". He accepted the gift and opened it. It’s a new mobile for him of same model he had. That person replied "You don't know me.... I didn't talk much to you... Then why you all contributed for me???" That person in group replied "Yes you didn't talk much to us... But you talked to us by the music you played... We are travelling in same train from past 3 years and everyday you play music... So we have a relation... A friendship.... That’s why we contributed for you... we understood that if you had proper money you would have a good phone before itself... And even after your mobile phone broke, you didn’t buy new one... So we helped our friend who plays song for us everyday... Do play music from tomorrow... We want you to smile" after hearing this he had a smile in his face and tears in his eyes. And after that day, we still enjoy his music in train. I noticed that friendship doesn't need words, it can be started even without talking. And as the time goes on friendship becomes stronger. Friendship is a beautiful relationship so enjoy it.
